Statement

OUR
COMMITMENT

Built into how we plan and deliver.

Overview

Sustainability isn’t just a box we tick because it looks good on a website.

It matters to us because it’s how we want to operate — properly, consistently, and with discipline. The events industry is fast-moving and material-heavy by nature, but that doesn’t excuse waste. There are better options now, and we push for them wherever they make sense.

We’re realistic about the constraints: time, budget, venues, safety, and the need for a flawless finish. Our approach is simple — reduce what we can, reuse what we should, choose smarter materials, and keep improving how we deliver.

What this means in practice

  • Reduce first. If it doesn’t need to be built, printed, transported or powered, we don’t do it.

  • Reuse as standard. We favour modular, repeatable solutions that can be re-skinned or re-purposed.

  • Choose better materials. We recommend lower-waste, more responsible alternatives where they suit the brief.

  • Plan properly. Good pre-production prevents rush orders, failed installs and throwaway fixes.

  • Maintain and repair. We look after kit and scenic so it stays in service longer.

  • Keep raising the bar. We review each job and update how we work as better options become available.

Smarter scenic and graphics

A lot of event waste sits in scenic builds and printed branding. We actively guide clients toward options that still look sharp on site.

including:

  • Re-board and recyclable board options for signage, panels and branded set features.

  • Sustainable print and finishing options where the durability and look match the job.

  • Modular scenic designed to be re-used, re-skinned or resized instead of scrapped.

  • Better fixings and cleaner installs to reduce single-use materials where possible.

If a traditional method is genuinely the best choice for safety, longevity or quality, we’ll be upfront about that — but we don’t default to waste out of habit.

Power, transport and logistics

Sustainability isn’t just materials. It’s also how you plan, move and power a job.

  • Right-sizing power and spec so we’re not over-building systems unnecessarily.

  • Tighter logistics planning to reduce avoidable trips, last-minute runs and cross-hire wastage.

  • Efficient load-ins/outs that avoid rework, damage, and disposable “quick fixes”.

  • Supplier choices that prioritise reliability, repairability and sensible packaging.

How we work with clients

We’ll always take the lead on recommending the better option — and we’ll keep it practical.

That means:

  • Flagging where waste typically sits in your brief.

  • Offering alternatives that still look premium and deliver properly.

  • Explaining trade-offs clearly (finish, cost, durability, lead time).

  • Making the sustainable choice easy to approve and execute.

Continuous improvement

We’re not interested in performative claims or pretending everything is perfect. This is about steady, measurable improvement — job by job, process by process. As new materials and methods become viable, we test them, adopt what works, and build it into how Solis operates.

If you care about doing it properly — you’ll fit in with how we work.
